Sinhala language subtitles rendering improving in KODI

Summary: KODI is one of a famous application in my country too. But the localization to Sinhala language is not properly happened in KODI yet. After some tricky works we are able to see Sinhala subtitles, but it is not well readable such as vlc in ubuntu old days. I wish to work on that issue to solve under the better guidance of KODI mentors for GSOC 2019.

How will I achieve this: I am not sure about really needed technology requirements for this particular issue. But as an undergraduate student, I have experienced on working with different technologies and languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, Web technologies and languages. I think, I will have to work with Sinhala Unicode system to solve this issue.

What will the project focus on: Mainly focused to implement the proper subtitle rendering mechanism for Sinhala language. Other than that functionality to import subtitles from external source, Improve Sinhala language related issues in skins.

Benefits: Sri Lanka is an upcoming large user base for KODI. Currently this localization related issue is reduced that increment of users massively. Therefore the completion of this issue will get benefits to whole country and outer of the country too. I wished to try to solve this issue somehow. And also I need to work on a GSOC project. I will be able to fulfill both requirements through this project.

Goals: Implementation the proper subtitle rendering mechanism for Sinhala language is the main goal in this summer of code project.

What does it touch in Kodi: Subtitle rendering, language and character handling, Unicode handling

Requirements: Mainly required a better guidance for understanding the code base and language related functionalities.

Possible mentors: Place to add possible mentors (Team-Kodi will add this).

Hello, awesome project idea.

In my mind  you will end up fixing Sinhala, but what we're really trying to do here is fixing every language. Or getting it on a better basis.

It's a huge thing which is you have done so far to improve KODI with localization.
As a Sri Lankan citizen, I thought it would be better to use my unique capabilities for doing the project. But the guidance is the most important thing to me.

Feel free to work on it. The other thing would be to set up your dev environment and maybe have a go at some small / simple PR.

I had some cases with building kodi project in my PC correctly. I had to take some time for fixing them and now it is properly build-up. Due to that, I wasn't able to make a PR for repository. But I will try to do my best in next few days.
