12 hours ago i tried to setup a ubuntu test vm for kodi v20 and gave up trying to add the ppa because it kept timing out
i tried again just now and it still times out

using https://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Install_Kodi_for_Linux

sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:team-xbmc/ppa times out every time

ubuntu installed from ubuntu-22.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso
verified connectivity with ping 8.8.8.8 just now
verified connectivity and everything else by successfully installing kodi 19.x from the ubuntu repositories 12 hours ago with apt install kodi

i wanted to test concerns for ubuntu/kodi v20 so i thought i would go ahead and have a standby vm with it so i could which makes 19.x not so useful

the vm itself is a fresh install as of 12hr ago, only apt upgrade has been run

sure does not even a hiccup
i also tried it in a su root without sudo and its the same (not that i expected anything to change just eliminating variables)

Perhaps the download mirror closest to you is having hiccups? I wouldn't know, PPA's are usually pretty solid and stable.

thanks ill just try again at a later time, trying to add the ppa was sure not the step i expected to fail as you said its usually solid
