Bug Performance with plot text rendered on screen
#1
I've just moved to Omega on a Vero V, so a device clearly not in the league of PC performance, that has absolutely no issues rendering more demanding skins under v20.

What I've now noticed under v21 is that, no matter which skin I'm using - be it Estuary or the e.g. the OSMC Skin, there's a severe and visible performance hit when rendering plot texts on screen... This happens in info media views where a plot text is shown as well as info dialogs:
- When scrolling through lists it leads to extremely stuttery and poor scrolling performance. Without plot texts visible, scrolling is absolutely smooth.
- When opening the info dialog during video playback, it leads to dropped frames and a freeze of about a second before the dialog basically shows up without an animation.

Can someone else reproduce this on a more optimized platform compared to a PC under Kodi v21?

Nobody has noticed this issue yet?

Still trying to figure out the logic of the issue over at OSMC, but not everybody experiences it. It looks like the length of plot texts is a factor... English plot texts for movies and TV shows seem to be too short to trigger the issue most of the time. German plot texts do however trigger it, same as YouTube info texts.
