I have this problem with Spooks (MI-5 in the states) dvd all seasons they are a copy of region 1 discs not region 2 they were made for the US but since they were originally PAL format that might have something to do with it but probably not since they are made for the US
what happens is that I play the video but randomly it will go black and the sound will stay playing but no picture - it will usually do this when it changes from the menu to the episode or if I skip a scene forward or backwards
this only happens so far with these dvd's but I have only played these and also Dr. Who, Torchwood, and other bbc videos, as well as some other normal dvd's that are US only or whatever not a bbc program
