Well I'd like to know what size is recommended for these:
1) Movie Poster
2) Fanart
3) Extrathumbs
4) Music CD ART

I'd like to know which size is best suited for each and what size do you use.
Currently I'm using (approximates) :
1) 1000x1500
2)1920x1080
3)1920x1080
4)1000x1000

512x512 is fine for CD poster size. Similarly, something where the smallest dimension is no more than 512 and the largest dimension is no more than 1024 is fine for posters.
