Anyone at ALL had any success on getting HD Media server up and running, it seems the general consensus is current mini-itx is insufficient to support it.

What exactly is "HD Media Server" Huh Is this a NAS? XBMC box? What? what do you mean by "insufficient"?

You can run a NAS on a Mini-itx with the right board if you look hard enough, it will just likely be limited by slots and SATA connectors. A few unRAID guys run mini-itx just fine <shrug>
Openelec Gotham, MCE remote(s), Intel i3 NUC, DVDs fed from unRAID cataloged by DVD Profiler. HD-DVD encoded with Handbrake to x.264. Yamaha receiver(s)

by this I mean for example an XBMC setup that will plat Bluray, Bluray-rips in MKV format, that will not jitter!

Also 6 Sata would come in handy too for media storage Wink

Mini-ITX is a motherboard size spec. You can get a Mini-ITX motherboards with a variety of CPU and GPUs. You need to be more specific.

To be honest my main issue...or question is have people had any good experiences building a blu-ray enabled HD playing system successfully with an XBMC setup.

as I have said the consensus from what i read is mini fanless systems integrated graphics and cpu dont have the power to do FULL HD systems.

Example here

Do these boards work well under a HD environment.
