Just trying out XBMC on a PC under windows XP, but when I browse for a media source it cannot see my networked drives or any other network shares any help would be brilliant

Microsoft network browsing is famously erratic. I find the best option when adding a source is to click Browse then "Add network location..." (you'll need to scroll down to find this). Now enter the server name and share name, and username and password if you need them. After you've clicked OK you'll see the new source in the list so you can select it.

I feel such a dope. I didnt realise the browse for source menue scrolled so I can now see all my shares and network storage. Thanks for the clue as I obviously do not have one! All sorted
