alright, here goes.

I have been running XBMC on winXP for nearly a year now, and had no problems with my Hauuppauge MCE remote working there, now I have upgraded to win7 i just cant seem to get it working! like there's no inputs at all.

the little red light on the receiver flashes, i have tried the tutorial with the reg edit, i tried setting up my original xbox controller and that didn't work. i get a signal, just that no matter what i do i can't make it do ANYTHING! could my receiver be stuffed? or is there a special driver i need?

need help! this is so frustrating!

yeah thats the one, or at least very similar.

buttons are the same, just layout is a tiny bit different. and same IR receiver.

Check and see if your remote is using the eHome driver. Look in Device Manager under Universal Serial Bus controllers and see if there is and eHome IR receiver or something like that. If the eHome device is present then the registry tweaks ought to work. You might want to look at my new addon at http://xbmcmce.sourceforge.net/ if you want to try tweaking the registry.

it shows up in device manager with a yellow "!" next too it, and when i go to install driver it finds nothing. i can't find anything on google, and i have updated my system and everything but i still get nothing.

this is driving me crazy haha

could it be windows 7? should i go back to winXP? i dont want too though.

OK, that's a Windows 7 issue. You could ask on the Hauppauge support forums, but I would simply buy a Microsoft remote.
