x264 720p/1080p poor perfomance
#1
My specs, running on my main desktop pc:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8200, 3200 MHz (8 x 400)
Corsair Dominator 4gb DDR2-1066mhz
ATI Radeon HD 3850 512mb (Bandwidth 56.3 GB/s)
OCZ-VERTEX 64gb

Windows 7 64bit

Usually i run ffdshow with ffmpeg, haali media splitter and ac3 filiter for dts and ac3 passthrough, with media player classic (non hd) as the player.

Is it possible to disable the XBMC internal codec support and use my own codecs for x264?

Ok i regret saying poor performance because it does not realy suffer from poor performance, I just find my normal codecs better. Is there a way to enable an external player ?

Search on 'dsplayer'. The simple answer to your question is, "No", though.

What about just switching the codecs ?

I have just found xbmc so i do not know, but is it just a matter of changing some dll files and editing some config files ?

You cannot just change dll files around. If you want to use your own codecs you have to use the DSPlayer build.
