Hi guys, long story short...

got my new Iphone 4 yesterday, and there are several apps that claim to be XBMC remotes... I just couldn't configure them.. I connected the iphone to my wifi (same wifi that the xbmc pc is) entered the ip address of that pc, port 8080 and for user and pass I had tried (xbmx, xbmx), tried all empty and nothing worked...

I am using dharma RC1, and windows 7.

If some of you know something, please comment

THANKS!

First get your IP Address of the PC XBMC is installed in.

Example
My router IP address is 192.168.10.0
My PC that has XBMC installed in it IP Address is 192.168.10.100

Then I will use this IP 192.168.10.100

in XBMC go to:
Settings_> Network_> Services_> "Select/Enable" Allow Control of XBMC via HTTP

Make sure user name is set to XBMC and Password field is empty, Also set the Port to 8080. "it did not work for me with password applied for some reason.

if you've Purchased "XBMC Remote" by Collect3 "David Fumberger" then do this:

Launch the app and touch:

More_> Settings_> Discover Hosts_>
if you unlucky "it will tell you no Hosts found"

Then select Manually Add Host and enter the details as shown below but REMEBER to replace my IP address with your one.

Case sensitive

Title XBMC
Username xbmc
Password "just leave it empty"

"At home (local Wifi Network)"
Host/IP 192.168.10.100 ----> remeber replace this with your own PC IP address.
Port 8080

select Done and you are DONE. Big Grin

we do not need to set any thing else.

Now make sure your XBMC is running, if your app still did not detect XBMC just close it and restart the app on your iPhone. Make sure you kill the app completely Double tab the home button and Kill the app proceses and relaunch your app.

Cheers,
EG.

as expected, no trouble at all... worked like a charm. I can't believe I couldn't notice that on my own. The option is right there explicit for users to use it hahaha

Thanks! and I considered myself some kind of advanced user xD, I guess you can always learn something.
