I have already XP installed, running J River MC.
I would like to run XBMC Live in paralell with XP, at least for a while.
I can't make my PC boot to USB (it accepts only USB FDD and ZIP boot).

Can I solve this in some way? My understanding is that I can't install XBMC Live on a specific partition, only the whole HD.

Any solutions to this? By a new harddrive?

there is different things you can do. One is to shrink the xp partition and backup it with a clone tool. Install live, shrink the partition , restore xp partition next to the live partition. Then edit or if necessary install grup to both systems.

But if you can handle that you can probably also manage to manually do a xbmcbuntu installation next to xp.
