first of all, thanks very much for the whole community and the each member who are working on the XBMC over Allwinner based platform. We have received several emails from you guys and review closely about your requirements. We have released all the available CedarX lib to you but maybe still not enough for you. What you are requiring needs great modification to our construction which is not in the same direction as Allwinner plans. Will it possible for you continue the XBMC porting based on the current construction?

Email sent!

While a closed CedarX-blob is exciting for many, hey it makes the friggin thing work! It's not the best solution. I've stated so on the blog and in the e-mail to Allwinner THE best solution, for everybody involved is a) a GPL licensed opensource driver or as an alternative b) programming documentation.

It shouldn't be a huge issue really, just look at what Broadcom did with their BCM 970012/5. It basically is nothing else but a VPU-core with open-source drivers.

Shamefully however, even the BCM970012 still requires a firmware to be loaded, that is at the moment acceptable but hopefully may change in the future!
