Received a D34010WYK a few days ago and am really impressed. Only had one hiccup, and will be replacing the SSD I bought (Crucial m4 32gb) as it was having bios issues, an Intel 525 should be here shortly. We play 20gb-40gb mkv/avc files with DTS-HDMA audio and needed something that wont seek for ever and be able to play 23.96 correctly. I tried OE at first and the blacks were a major turnoff as we use a JVC projector for the amazing black levels and the ability to do 2.35. Also wanted the ability to access Hulu/Netflix/Soundcloud for various viewing/listening options when entertaining in the theater.
In the end I installed Ubuntu 13.10, as our previous media servers have all been Ubuntu + XBMC and it runs perfectly. Boots in 5 seconds from USB and XBMC runs perfect, even using Aeon Nox. Going to be purchasing 2 more and setting them up the same way for our outdoor area and family room, all pointed to a synology rackstation. We keep it on 24/7 and XBMC open with Watchdog running to keep everything up-to-date. If for some reason XBMC isn't open, everyone in the house knows how to open XBMC. We control everything with Control4, so IR wasn't a big concern.
Next up: thinking about doing LiveTV.
