Did you have any luck using a monthly build of Gotham, on a clean user profile with only the NBA Game Time addon installed? If not can you tell me which specific setup has worked for you?

The latest (as of Friday) of the official unstable repo worked better for me than the official Frodo release. The other plugins shouldn't make any difference. The system was also idle. The codecinfo overlay also gives you a cpu usage reading.

If you have no luck with this, my advice is to look for network errors that cause packet loss. For example try to stop all other downloads that use the internet line (ex. torrents), get closer to your access point if you use WiFi, or test with the same video different hours (ex. night in the US). If nothing works you should raise this to another xbmc generic thread.
