The version that @neno1978 linked to is definitely a different(newer?) version of the app than the one that is linked to in the wiki...its only 593MB when unpacked compared to the wiki version that is 763MB when unpacked, if you look at the creation date it is indeed 5 days newer.
The important thing is that redownloading either of these solved the issue i was having where the app/wine would crash and quit after a minute or so of playback.
My existing version mustve corrupted itself in some way, but its working a treat now...cheers for the pointers lads.
