That's a bug on my side, I should have assumed if you have .kodi and .xbmc you're running kodi. Remove the old .xbmc folder:
1) rm -r /storage/.xbmc
2) Enter the addon settings and enable download modules on boot
3 re-enter the addon

2) Enter the addon settings and enable download modules on boot
