Does anyone know if there is planned support for better 1080p->4k scaling options in Kodi? (e.g. Lanczos3) Even if it means no hardware acceleration......
I have a 4K Samsung TV and there is currently no way of forcing the HDMI connection to 1080p; meaning that I have to use Kodi scaling and as things stand this is a lot worse than the Samsung TV scaling. Meaning that for playback of 1080p material my ancient Patriot PBO is producing a better picture.
I've logged enhancement requests with both Nvidia and Samsung to see if they can provide enhancements to control the HDMI output (i.e. force 1080p)
However, having better scaling options in Kodi available may be the better answer!
