can anyone post exact instructions?

You need to connect to your shield from your pc or laptop via adb. Do you know how to do that?

I have read this but i don't see the difference using ES Explorer. All that is to do is:
- copy the .kodi content to a new folder on other location (SD-card, USB thumb)
- point of this folder via xbmc_ebv.properties created or copied to /sdcard
and nothing more, or do i miss something?

I will try the way connecting via OTG port, but i don't have such a long cable.

es file explorer will not work, there is 0 way of getting this to work. The reason for this is as follows.

Lollipop which is the Android OS used on the shield has a different permission system than the older android os and you must grant the permissions to folders for the programs to use them.

When you create the folder in es file explorer you are allowing es file explorer access to that file and not kodi. You can only grant the permissions using the ADB shell as this runs on the highest level possible within the OS.

I repeat as many people will see the post about the command line way to create the folder and will use es file explorer instead.

ES FILE EXPLORER WILL NOT WORK FOR THIS PURPOSE
