Now it's just a matter of either turning on the setting to always show that screen before playback, pressing "i," or using a remote like the Logitech Harmony which in my experience defaults to that behavior.

In other words, you already have it. You can verify that you have it from Kodi's addon section by viewing running or installed addons .

Right so the first I will do is...

1: Install the latest beta9 on my rasp.
2: Find the add-on and install it.
3: Now the triggy part for (as a noob that I am) the turning of the settings, with the pressing of i on my remote, is how can I change the behavior of this? Do I have to change the keymap of the given button right? Which i can find here: System -> Settings -> System -> Input Devices -> Peripherals -> CEC adapter correct? Sorry for my might stupid question here. Just want to be sure.
I am using the CEC remote to my Samsung TV so I just want to be sure here.
