I would like to distinguish between recordings and VOD entries. Recordings exist on the backend, somewhere in the network. Replay events should be cached at local level, because they can be independent from the used backend. My trials would match EPG DVB-C/T/S data from tvheadend/vdr with videos from the channel websites. An API for Python (via direct integration, virtual files or JSON) would be favourable.

- Maybe even Preplay (replay of future programs) might be supported by some provider (don't know of any)

Almost every public TV station here in Germany provides videos before the scheduled run.
