With same configuration, OSMC with latest YT plugin, on Raspi 3, I did experience the same error as jape42 (but it's already a few months I noticed it, now it's much more frequent for some reason)
In addition, I configured the plugin to pick the 720p version of the videos.
In general, I noticed this problem seems to affect only videos that have been published recently (at most in the last 24h).
Once, after I got the error, I tried to configure the plugin so that it prompted to choose for the resolution.
Strangely, while the 720p version was causing the error, the 360 was playable.
(And in all this, when playing the same video from a browser on a desktop it works just fine).
Not sure by what is caused, whether the plugin, Youtube caching system or what else.
One way that seems to bypass the issue is to enable MPEG-DASH.
