I have the 2015 and 2017 Shield and have to admit I think the new Fire TV Cube is much better.  Waiting on the 2019 Shield getting delivered. 

@bekter That is very interesting - I'm thinking of getting the new cube, could you advise how well Kodi performs on it please?

I am not an expert but I understand for Kodi alone Shield is better because it offers HD audio but for other apps Fire devices are better. I could be wrong because there are some other technicalities I don’t fully grasp when it comes to PQ.

In my personal opinion, fire stick 4k provides better and crisper visuals in Netflix and Amazon than the shield.
