I just noticed that themoviedb is my primary TV series scraper, before TheTVDB which I'd prefer, and I cannot disable it from this role. What is going on here?

Unfortunately themoviedb has some seriously erroneous and/or partial data on it, thetvdb seems to be much better in this respect. For example, check out the newly released "Looney Tunes Cartoons".

tvdb is much more complete (I checked and swapped about 40 series this week looking for better/more artwork on tmdb, but mostly struck out), but has more issues with things. I don't know a better way to describe their API problems, sorry. tmdb is much less prone to issues, but is woefully incomplete. Literally seasons are missing from some series. I guess if I had started adding content to tmdb a couple years ago when the first tvdb issues appeared for me, I might be done adding the shows that are/were missing.

If you want to change the scraper used for a particular series, you need to access the Videos section from the main menu, then your TV source. Highlight a series you want to adjust, and open the context menu. That's pressing C on a keyboard. The highlight and select Change Content. Highlight and select tmdb and press enter. You'll want to refresh all info for the episodes.

If you want to change the scraper for all series, go back one level (Videos > TV source) and follow the above steps. Be prepared to fix lots of stuff that scrapes poorly. It's a big job. For example, recently, the folder labeled V (2009) scraped as the tv series Voice. V (2009) is the correct name, and it still scraped incorrectly using tmdb. I was so frustrated because the add-on I use to search missing content wasn't showing the missing episodes, but I didn't see V (2009) listed right after V. Slowly moving through series starting with that letter, I saw Voice. The artwork was unfamiliar, so I played an episode. It was V (2009).   I used steps similar to above to change the content, and now it's fine. Again, be prepared to look for lots of issues like that.
