It seems that a consensus has beginning to form about why the slowness occurred. Culprit - "too many customizations of home menus"
Frankly it is difficult for me to digest the fact that it is the main reason or getting rid of it is the only way to improve rather than solving the problem of why it is happening.
That feature does not add textures. I don't see why it would. Does add more entries to guisettings.xml...
The skin warns you that enabling many views will slow down things, and not enabling them will not. Does this logic/can this logic not work for this feature?
I think unlike many other pieces of software skins in xbmc are not only eye candy but are/should also/are in a position to add functionality.
It is precisely these customizations that makes me keep trying other skins in the hope that they will add something on top of confluence albeit maybe at some speed disadvantage and not take away anything from it.
I wonder what is the percentage of people who try out other skins and just return to confluence and why...
