I am much more in favor of the continued move forward using what you have done with 2.6. Heck, with the recently changed test files it's already gotten a ton faster so you already found some streamlining. My guess is either leaving as-is or even just dropping a bit of the submenu customization options down will get us back to a great high-end skin.
I agree with the other posters here that say, if they want a lightning fast skin to go with something simpler. You just can't expect every level of hardware to run every skin. I hope folks understand that. Aeon is the best. I am just so happy you have taken the time to keep it alive because it's still worlds better than anything else I have used, and I have tried them all.
