eskro Wrote:so in XBMC, i have to go in --> SETTINGS > NETWORK > SERVICESYes.
then i have to allow it to be controlled via HTTP
and i have to set Port to let's say 8085?
eskro Wrote:then back in XBMC-on-IMON, i have to do the same by opening port 8085?Depends on whether you defined those in the XBMC settings or not but I guess you didn't so you don't have to in xbmc on imon either.
what about the name and password?
no need for that right?
eskro Wrote:and in iMON Manager, is there a settings i need to play with? You don't need to set the port there as xbmc on imon only uses iMON Manager to control the display and not to communicate with XBMC. Simply uncheck the XBMC checkbox in iMON Manager.
like i see XBMC in the list of Media Information there so,
i need to put its port on 8085 to!?
by default its at Port 80....
eskro Wrote:and what about enable API? i dont see wheres that option in iMON Manager....It should be under "Options" -> "Plug-in Mode" but if you don't have such an options page in iMON Manager you got the wrong version of iMON installed anyway. You need to install the latest beta release and not the latest stable release.
anyone can point me in the right direction?
eskro Wrote:finally, do i also have to use my Firewall application and open the 8085 port from there first??Are you running XBMC on a different computer than the one with the iMON display? If not you don't need to do anything with the firewall.
Last but not least you could enable debug logging in xbmc on imon and take a look at the debug.log file in your xbmc on imon directory and pastebin it so I can have a look as well.
