All humour aside, if settings are being erased, then "reset" is the correct word. Erase would also be appropriate. All the other options like "refresh", "reload", "restart" are wrong and misleading because they imply that your settings are going to be applied, not destroyed. People won't necessarily "know" what it does until after it is too late, so you should use the correct word.
I believe the builtin xbmc command ReloadSkin() does what it says, it reloads the skin using your settings. It does not erase your settings.
