Just to confirm...
- Only one nfo file can exist per movie/tvshow/episode. This means the previous one will be overwritten.
- The export function will export new information you previously "refreshed" into the library. If it is in the library, then it will be exported.
Personally, I run the export once every two weeks. It saves any changes I made as well as preserving my Watched status, Resume Points and Play Counts. In addition to those 3 items, I also modify the Genre as well as Certification to reflect the ratings used by the Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification, as many movies (and all TV Shows) don't have (or have incorrect) Australian certification ratings at the scraper sites.
If you are using the Program Add-on backup simply to backup your library, then it is not required as the NFO Files are the backup.
