Beta Testflight access to beta version
Hi @Buschel,
good work as always.

But what I am still missing is the following. Couldn’t be too complex to add?

(2024-02-28, 22:15)UlfSchmidt Wrote: Another thought: with the controls moved to the Now Playing screen, it would be important to have some means to reach this view directly. Maybe you can add a dedicated button right to the Remote Control button in the bottom bar?

And, just my opinion, the HighRes logo looks a little bit squeezed in on iPads. Maybe you can rearrange the icons in a way that you always have space for five instead of four? Shouldn’t be a big deal on iPads?

And just the next tease, NowPlaying fullscreen. I had this in mind since long time. This needs quite some work for the animations and the bottom bar alignments, and I am sure this can be done with more eye candy (e.g. background fanart...), but first quick and dirty impression is quite ok Smile

@UlfSchmidt, should be possible to find a place. But just to mention, there are already 5 items (mute, minus volume, text label, plus volume, remote), with the text label in the center below the playlist.

Yeah. These look already fantastic!

I don’t get this argument, honestly. Previously there were eleven items (from fast reverse over play/pause to remote) and now you have problems to add a single button to the remaining five items? Why?

Alignment. I try to find alignment with other elements. Otherwise it can look „off“. The old iPad control button alignment with remote and volume was not looking well because of this.

Tagline support! Thank Ember Media Manager for that. I used that for inspiration when populating the movie details mockup as I knew it had a bunch of extra details not visible in the app. 🙂

Have you considered using hollow loop/random buttons? Then only fill with color when activated? Something about the layout you decided to go with just seems off to me.

I see your point. Will give it a try, iPad and iPhone obviously need different layouts.

I would just try to de-emphasize them.

Apple Music for example uses a smaller glyph for those two buttons than they use for the other buttons. Also they use faded color for them compared to the main buttons - play etc which is full bright white.

If you look at my mockups I faded those buttons as well. I had considered trying nonfilled versions but never got to it.

Yes, I saw this. For iPad they are sitting in the same row as other icons, so I prefer same look and „weight“. For iPhone I can imagine to use „thinner“ icons and make them a bit smaller. Tweaking which will visually pay out.

OK, sorry that it took me so long to get it. I totally agree with you. Then maybe the additional button could be placed separately from these five. One possible location could be left of the power button.

Yes I agree. On iPad the buttons look fantastic. I like everything being in one row.

Thinner shuffle/repeat icons, really looks better:

Quick video to show the NowPlaying fullscreen toggle: iPad simulation video. Rotation works as well.

Currently the toggling is done via the button left of the repeat button -- the one which was left unused yet.

This looks really cool. Great work, eagerly waiting for it to appear on my iPad!

Yes, this function is even matching the symbol "show playlist", isn’t it?

Just replaced it with the fullscreen toggle icon which already is used in other places. Consistency. Smile
