When browsing the library and focused on a title or in the info screen, there are flags for country depending where the title was made.
If a title was made in the United States of America, it should display the 'Stars and Stripes'.
My setup is not displaying the 'Stars and Stripes'.
It's displaying the 'Union Jack' English flag both round and square.
As a matter of fact, not one title shows 'Stars and Stripes' square or round in my collection.
Does yours?
Trying to figure out if I have a corrupt install or if something is wrong in the code.

no problem here - when in my nfo is country= United States of America i have the stars and stripes flag in info screen - when i have more then one country, i have no flag
and for language, there is most of the time just eng and not us in media info - so the uk flag will shown

Mine show just like yours. But, aren't the flags supposed to show language, not the country of origin?

They used to show the United States Flag.
They don't anymore.
Something changed.
The flags are present in AppData\Roaming\Kodi\addons\skin.aeon.madnox-master\extras\AltIcons\color flags\flags\language
Whatever is used to call the United States flag is calling the English flag which is the Union Jack. English.png, eng.png, etc.
US.png, USA.png is not getting called.
Schimi, I don't use .nfo's.
bobrap confirmed so I know it's not a corrupted install and that's my main concern.
Not a big deal.

Hmmm... I "think", when you get a uk flag instead of a us flag, it should be a database/nfo problem... Will test some variations to find out what the problem is...

I only use artwork downloader with tmdb so everything is automated when I add a new title.
I never use export or nfo's because these create problems and have no interest in using a 3rd party scraper.

ive checked now my local dev machine here with tmdb scraping source - and i get there the us flag too ...


see... ive checked also other movies from other countries ( ok, one from germany hehe ) and there is the german flag...
realy dont know what the problem is... when there wouldnt be nothing, i would say, its maybe again because of case sensitiv letters... but this...
maybe a new gremlin ?!

That might be an explanation.
So far I can only tell you, no problem like yours on my side. But I'm scraping with the Universal Scraper all infos from IMDb.

If you want to take a look at your info files without exporting them from within Kodi just get this script

Install it in Kodi
Start your internet browser (i.e. Safari, Firefox) while Kodi is running
enter your lokal IP address from the machine you're running Kodi on (can be viewed in the Settings) with the port (usually :8080) like this:
123.456.7.89:8080/addons
choose XWMM
browse and edit your library info
to the top right corner is an arrow. This way you can view advanced info. In this list go to "other details" to view and change the country. Don't forget to hit save

This way you will at least know what's written into the .nfo

I get an extended info script error
crashes Kodi, need to force quit it.

I downgraded back to 3.1.1 and was away for the weekend and started my system today to try your solution... Kodi automatically updated back to 4.0.0 and so far its running flawlessly.
Weird thing that is. As soon as I get the error again, I'll try your way

btw. Do you have the same problem that after you entered and submitted a rating in extended info and go back into extended info (even days later) it doesn't show the rating you entered but when I go to TheMovieDB the rating is saved in my account?

I don't want to be rude but in the end it's a dialect, the language stays the english language. Otherwise there has to be an australian flag for the Mad Max Movies and there needs to be an austrian flag for movies from austria even though their language is german but with a strong accent.
I do get the point you're coming from but even imdb etc all count the language as english and not american. If you'd want that changed you need to open your movie file with for example mkvtoolnix and change the audio stream declaration to the country you'd like to. But after changing you won't have the ability anymore to let Kodi automatically chose the englisch language...

And btw even in the US you have english lessons and not american and people don't ask "do you speak american or australian" they ask "do you speak english"
