Does this still work?
I am running Kodi on a laptop - Windows 10 Pro Build 17134 64 Bit. As this is Windows 10 I installed the Kodi from the Microsoft App store (so that it could auto update in the future…. but was that a good idea lol).
I have a NAS where my files are stored - and it is using the wake function built into normal Kodi. I see that gets executed in the Kodi logs, and while I can put multiple items in the config file - if the first item is running, it wont bother checking any subsequent items - so I cant add another box to this list....
So I decided to try advanced Wake on Lan plugin... Leaving my NAS being woken up by the normal Kodi wake function should it need to, when those functions for video etc are needed.
I have now finally setup a PVR / Live TV box using Media Portal. Got it all working in Kodi - but would love to get it to go to sleep and wakeup.
This box running, Media Portal is also on Windows. The Bios is correct, the network adapter is set up, and the sleep function is all working fine. The box goes to sleep when I need it, and using a WOL tool from my PC, I can successfully send a magic packet to the machine that is asleep - and it wakes up. ALL GOOD - All configured correctly.
Using the same IP address and MAC Address in Advanced Wake on Lan - I just cannot wake this machine.
Further more - if I look in the Kodi logfiles, there is not a single line to debug - nothing is mentioned..
I run Kodi, and see the messages for the Advanced Wake On Lan plugin - it says its sent a packet... wait... then tells me that the machine is not woken up as yet... I have tried running it within the app, rebooted, everything... but it just does not seem to even send the packet ???
I installed a magic packet sniffer - it certainly shows a WOL Magic packet being sent when I use the tool in Windows... but when running Kodi it does not sniff any packets - hence thinking this utility is actually no longer working....
Is it the April 2018 Build ?? Build 17134.... Is it because its the app store version (where there are code changes on file locations for userdata and god knows what else)…
Why is there nothing showing in the Kodi logfiles...
Help please?
