No digital audio on nightly builds for me since the Feb 21st version

Memphiz: We already enable that (i.e. if we have HDMI or Optical as reported by the OS, i.e. a device that gives IEC61958) then we tell AE we can handle AE_FMT_AC3 which I think is enough to enable the passthrough option? I'm not completely sure - we might need to also signal that the device is AE_DEVTYPE_IEC958.

The issue here is the device doesn't report that it's an IEC61958 device, probably due to it being a hackintosh. But we can detect it as it is named "Digital" and has the right output formats perhaps.

If we say we can handle it for everything that gives S16/48kHz then users will start enabling passthrough and getting whitenoise on the builtin output.

Works like a charm! By what magic and voodoo made this happen?

For all the years of enjoyment I've received from XBMC, even going all the way back to XBOX 1, I've donated $20US. It's the least I can do!

Might I assume that future nightlies will work on Hackintosh boxes? I've always got my TimeMachine backup to restore to a working version if something breaks again.

Cheers to all the hard working devs!

Damn, Beta *JUST* popped up on the main page..downloaded, installed and uninstalled seconds later. The problem persists.

It should be included in beta 2 and it should (soon, if not already) be in nightly builds (wiki) (which are beta + more fixes).

Yup - didn't quite make it into B1, but it'll be in B2.

@Memphiz

This one also works. jmarshall mentioned that the fix would make it to B2 but moving forward, do you think the nightly builds will have the fix? No big deal really, it's good enough to know that it will be fixed one way or the other!

Cheers
