That worked! Forgot about saving in UTF-8 format. Thanks a lot!
Hello.

I've been trying to install opera launcher but it doesn't work.

First i added the c drive where i have all my programs and system, but when i tried to open the program files asked for a username and password, i thought it was my pc user and pass but it didn't work, I MUST ADD THAT I'M USING THEMEDIA PLAYER XTREAMER ULTRA 2 CONNECTED TO MY TV.

So i installed the opera browser on a folder i can acess from my ultra 2.

Then i followed all the instructions:
- Standalone...
- went to the folder where i had the browser and choose opera.exe
- removed the application argument
- choose the name (opera)
- Choose the plataform (IBM PC COMPATIBLE)
- For the thumbnails and fanarths path i just hited enter on the folder i had the opera browser ( i think this is not important for the launcher to work because it's just images?)

ALL DONE

I went to the launcher under programs and clicked on Opera and it just blinks nothing happens.

Can someone tell me why it is not working?

Very much appreciated.

Is there a way to use Advanced Launcher to open comics that are located on another computer on the network so I don't need the comic scans on each PC?
Hi.
Share the comics folder on your network, then go to XBMC and add that folder
Well, the comic scans are already shared. The problem is that when I go to create a new launcher for the comics it only gives me the option to look in the local drive for a files destination. I assume there's a way around this (or at least I hope so).
You mean you can't access the folder to choose the executable?
What is the message given?

In my case i tried to share the c drive where i have the system and when i tried to create a launcher asked for a user and pass

All your install description seems correct me. One mistake that often happen (also to me). Does Opera was already running when you make the test? Because if it was already running, Advanced Launcher will no start a new Opera session, just a new tab into Opera, without maximize it or focus it.

You will need to perform a new scan for each different system running Advanced Launcher. Paths are generally different and depend of each systems. To avoid to rescrap all you comics information, on you first system (PC), you will need to export comic data into NFO files (option is into launcher context menu). Then on your second system, create a new launcher pointing to the comics, thumb and fanart shared folders and then select local sources for all the scrapers, then perform a scan to automatically import all the previously scraped information by the first system.

More generally if you want to share stuff using Advanced launcher on several system. One system must use Advanced Launcher to scrap all the information and images on Internet and the others systems must use Advanced Launcher only to get information and images locally.

You must also to add your shared directory as source into XBMC to access it from Advanced Launcher.

Hi Angelscry

No, i don't think it was running. I just selected the opera.exe followed all the steps i described above and afterwards i tried to open opera under the launcher.
To get Opera to run, you need to create a batch file to launch the file in it's directory.

cd\%ProgramFiles%\Opera
opera.exe
Hi.

I created the batch file saved it to the opera folder, but unfortunately the result was the same the launcher just blinked. I also tried choosing the batch file instead of the exe but it didin´t work
Alright, I installed opera to test out the batch, and no it did not work. So instead I created a batch file and launched it with explorer.exe:

explorer.exe %ProgramFiles(x86)%\opera\opera.exe

This way worked.

Oh. If you use 64-bit Windows, use the line above, if not:

explorer.exe %ProgramFiles%\opera\opera.exe
Unfortunately it didn't work either.

I created the batch file using the line: explorer.exe %ProgramFiles(x64)%\opera\opera.exe (changed to x64, as i'm using 64 bits windows)
Saved it to the opera folder
and did the necessary steps to create the launcher but the result is the same it just blinks.
As with this line or with the previous one you gave me if i click on those batch files (on my pc) the opera opens, the same if i click on the opera.exe.

I think maybe the problem is not here, i don't know probably the problem is on the launcher settings or in the way i share the folder.
The settings i use are this i don't touch anything else:
- Standalone...
- went to the folder where i had the browser and choose opera.exe
- removed the application argument
- choose the name (opera)
- Choose the plataform (IBM PC COMPATIBLE)
- For the thumbnails and fanarths path i just hited enter on the folder i had the opera browser ( i think this is not important for the launcher to work because it's just images?)

The way i share the folders works for viewing movies or listening to music.

I really don't know.

Or maybe it doesn't work because i'm getting the folder program not from the system drive but from an external drive??

Please post here the content of your launchers.xml and batch files (using pastebin service) to see if your opera launcher is configured correctly. To personnaly have tested Opera with Advanced Launcher on the Windows 64bit version (http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?ti...ra#Windows), I can assure you that it is working. So there is something wrong with your system. Have you try to test another application (like notepad or internet explorer) to see if your problem is only located to Opera or to all of your applications?
