MediaElch - MediaManager for Mac/Linux/Win (with music library scraping)
@Linusorg:
Maybe later, there was also a request for skipping "the" in the list.
Quicksearch: There is the "Filter" in the upper right corner of MediaElch's window. What do you miss there?

The Filter works fine ( besides deleting the filter and retyping another words always loose chars, feels kind of odd/slow and that some keystrokes are missed, mac version ), but this quickserach i mention is mor to jump to the right "section" in your list.
Right ow it works for the first letter, but if you could enhance that for additional chars, navigation ( withou filtering would be much easier, especially for long lists.

I'm also having issues when I update a poster or backdrop, and sync with XBMC the poster/backdrop is not being updated. All other saved changes are being updated in XBMC. I'm using Frodo, is this some sort or bug or am I doing something wrong?

Any thoughts on the updating of posters and backdrops. Is it possible the naming convention is the problem (using Frodo). Should syncing with xbmc replace changed fanart?

Actor images are not supported by imdbapi.org.
First try to use Frodo naming scheme (http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=XBM...r_Frodo.3F), you can adjust the filenames in MediaElch's settings (the next version will have an option to set defaults for Eden or Frodo).
Then use XBMC to reload your movie (set context of the source directory to none, then back to movies). If that's not working, it's an XBMC issue.

I downloaded MediaElch yesterday and went through part of my library. Today it does not want to start anymore (crashes at boot time). I'm on Mac and get the following error in the problem report:

Dyld Error Message:
Symbol not found: _strnlen
Referenced from: /Applications/MediaElch.app/Contents/MacOS/../Frameworks/libmysqlclient_r.16.dylib
Expected in: /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib

Any idea?

(any config files that can be deleted maybe?

I don't have time right now to browse through all of the previous 40 pages... but I have a small issue that could be more my setup than anything else.
I have my files residing on my Mac in a ZFS pool. Permissions are set and seem to be working OK, except that I have to re-establish permissions after I move a file. That info is just in case it happens to coincide with my actual problem.

I have three TV episodes that always show as NEW, no matter what I do.

If you could look them up, there a letters in the episodes with accents on them, E especially.

Shameless (US) S03E02
Sons of Anarchy S02E13
South Park S14E14

Is there a way to force these silly things to read properly? I am trying to run the media scanner from a remote location and so I have no idea if the NFO is sticking for my XBMCBuntu Frodo at this point. Just wondering if there is any setting I can dig further into to fix this (in case you happen to know off hand).

Also - fantastic work! I have tried other media scanners (Windows, Mac and Linux variants). Yours works great, is fast, and for the most part had less missed files or renames than other programs have had. Love the GUI, the blending with my Mac OS is great. And the best part is that I can run the scanner on my Mac where my files actually are is extremely helpful.
Great work. Thank you much!

@billyprefect: Could you check if the nfo is named exactly like the episode file name, just with an ".nfo" extension? And could you provide the complete filenames with paths (you can also PM'it to me).

The files are all named exactly the same. PM coming.

Just a note on the above issue. I get XBMC to reload and changes are loaded except art work. If I immediately reload again the art work comes in. Must be something strange happening with xbmc, hence I can't use the xbmc sync in MediaElch as it only loads once. Thanks for your help.

I've also tried downloading extra fanart and saving locally in an extrafanart folder which xbmc scrolls through with each view. Is there any plan to add this functionality in the fulture? Downloading extra fanart straight from MediaElch would be much easier. Thanks

I see that ME can assign moviesets...can it also assign movie set fanart and poster or are we still stuck using XBMC to change those?

No, MediaElch can't save movieset fanart or posters. But that's a limitation of XBMC, there's no way of storing these images next to your movies and make XBMC use them as movie set fanart/posters. It's also not possible to set them in the nfo files.

As far as I know there's not even a way to set these images with the JSON RPC API.

Thank you, I guess we will see this in future releases of XBMC...i hope...
