legal reasons why they can't do it themselves, but there is no reason that a third party couldn't stand up and set it up themselves. trust me if i had the bandwidth and server power i would do it myself, i could really care less about the repercussions. lately the worst they have done is kindly asking the party to stop. not to mention it's current availibility! seriously what's the difference!

well, we all know that this will never be done by team xbmc
but what if they wrote in the code for an auto updater, that could be easily configured, and the distibution team could go ahead and set it up.
but, would you want to update xbmc on daily basis?
how does avalaunch do this? i am pretty sure that they have that feature.

this can be all done with a python script. if people really wanted it done, they could have done it ages ago.

not possilbe since xbmc cant be complied into binarys, with out the use of the microsoft xdk. they would have to be hosted somewhere.
read the xbmc online-manual, faq and search the forums before posting! do not e-mail the xbmc-team asking for support!
read/follow the forum rules! note! team-xbmc never have and never will host or distribute ms-xdk binaries/executables!

there is no need to reconfigure all. no need to overwrite your xml or remove your 0face008 dir. only do that if you are running into issues. doing a fresh install is the recommended way to avoid any potential issues.

yes, you're right but if you want to add new features on xbmc, maybe we will have to change the xml. and we don't know when you add features. that's why just overwriting the xml can cause some problems (i don't know very well, it isn't my job^^).
thanks for a reply

ok its pretty obvious that there will be no supprt from the dev team for auto update xbmc which is understandable. but what about auto updates for the xbmc scripts?? thats something that you can just download from the website and they seem to change a lot.
