Yeah! I solved it. I uninstalled alsa-utils and it worked

Great !!!... Rofl
I'm seeing some of the same issues noted in a previous post. When I try to add items to a launcher I get an "addons.py" error. I am able to manually add items however and once doing so, I'm able to launch them successfully but I would really not have to do this a couple hundred times Smile.

I've tried the suggestions in the last few posts by rolling back to 2.1.0 and then reinstalling 2.2.0 but still see the issue. I'm running Frodo 12.2 with the Aeon MQ 4 skin on a Win7 x64 machine.

Here are the contents of my launchers.xml file: http://pastebin.com/KWm6c1FE

Huuu.... What do you mean by manually add items? It seems that you have edited the launchers.xml file manually by yourself without really knowing what you where doing. The launchers.xml file structure is totally messed-up. Most of all the tags are not correctly defined (open/close). Tab indentations are all removed. So that's normal that you obtain an error. Advanced Launcher is not able at all the recognize the file structure.

I'm sorry to tell you that, but delete the launchers.xml file and restart from the begining.
Ok, I'll try that and let you know if it works. Just so you know for future troubleshooting, I didn't make any edits to the launchers.xml file and the indentations were just removed when I did the copy/paste to the pastebin site.
That did not work either. I'm still seeing the "Script failed! : addons.py" error when attempting to add new items to a launcher by using "Scan for New Items". Adding them by selecting "Manually Add Item" does still work.

After deleting the launchers.xml file it was recreated correctly as far as I can tell http://pastebin.com/uSt2gawD.

Is the addons.py script part of Advanced Launcher?

Post the content of the xbmc.log file after the error message occurs.
Here you go: http://pastebin.com/cGAPFyCD

Edit - This one should be easier to read and have the relevant lines at the bottom of the log: http://pastebin.com/aa943fis
One more update. I was able to get the scan to work by turning on the recursive scan. I still received the "Script failed! : addons.py" error at the end of the import but it looks like all of the games were successfully added to the launcher.

I'm not sure how critical the error is since it appears everything still works.

Thanks for the help and thanks for writing such a great program!! Let me know if you would like to troubleshoot the addons.py error any further.

I'm having the exact same problem. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

The error was effectively not critical, linked only to message notification display. For this notification I have forget to indicate how long the notification will be displayed.

Fantastic!! Big Grin
Working great!!!!
Version 2.2.2 : This new version of Advanced Launcher bring some new minor fixes, to try to improve the stability of the add-on. It close CSV and NFO files that were forgotten to be correctly close during scrapping and NFO files creation. It all fix warning message for display having a negative handle.

Finally this new version remove the cache image display support of TheGameDB thumbs scraper. Cached images on TheGameDB website are smaller and lighter than downloaded images. It was perfect to quickly display the list of images to scrap. Unfortunately, the cached images on the TheGameDB website do not exist for all images... So some preview were not displayed under Advanced Launcher. Cached images are now replaced by the real images. The list display will be slower... but we will see all the images. That I think it is the more important when you want to select one of them.

Changelog :
  • Fix unclosed opened CSV and NFO files.
  • Fix negative handle problem.
  • Fix TheGameDB cached thumbs images display list.
Thumbs Up
Thank you @Angelscry! I managed to get the Netflix app working with the advanced launcher. For simplicity I just created a launcher for explorer.exe with the argument netflix:/// and it works just fine!
