Best Regards.

COuld you give us a little clue of what to expect from this version? "I'm so excited, and i just can't hide it" Nod

Awesome skin, just got around to completely revamping my whole library and what way to start it off with a fantastic skin. Quick question, i was unable to see the Apple Trailer Lite Add on in the Video Add On section. Any suggestions on how to install If it doesn't show up as an Video Add On? Thank you in advance.

Hi guys, hoping someone can help me with this.

I want to add my own category to the home screen, called "UFC", and point it to my tagged UFC pay per views collection. I don't want these files to be visible under the TV or Movies categories.

Is there any way to do it? I tried using the "Shows" category, but the only content you can set it to is of course music, movies, or TV.

Ultimately I'd like to create my own category on the home screen, but it seems this function doesn't work yet.

Anyone have any ideas how I can do it?

Cheers.

Assuming all of your UFC collection is a part of your TV Shows library you can create two smart playlists; one for your UFC and another excluding all of your UFC. Then you will need to link them to your home screen (replacing TV Shows with the playlist that excludes all of your UFC). You would normally need to add the playlists to your favourites and link them to your home screen within MQ's custom menu item settings. Unfortunately this does not work at the moment since playlists linked to favourites will not display properly. I'm not sure if this is going to be a part of MarcosQui's highly anticipated update but it is on a lot of user's wishlist. The only skin that has this down perfectly is 'Night', which is sadly it's only worthwhile feature.

Depending how comfortable you are editing the guisettings.xml code, this shouldn't be difficult.

First, you add a custom home page item from your Favorites list. Just pick a movie b/c it doesn't matter what, just remember the name. Then exit xbmc, open guisettings.xml & search for that movie. There will be 2 items next to the MQ-2 settings. The items might be pages apart. One is the name of the home page item/movie, which you'll change to UFC. The 2nd code-line is the link to the movie, which you'll change to a modification of the ActivateWindow(videolibrary) command. I'm not @ home, so I can't tell you exactly what the code is, but if you reply with where your UFC folder is I should be able to help. In other words, is it a folder within TV?

I've done this to add an "Unwatched" item to the home page, which pops up the Favorites window, and a "Home Movies" item which opens a sub-folder of my Pictures folder.

Thanks Curtis and Stranger.

My media is organised as per:

D:
/HD Movies (Movies)
/SD Movies (Movies)
/TV (TV shows)
/UFC (no category, just use the Video option to watch these for now)

When using the method described above, can the custom homescreen option have it's own background image, and when you open that option, will it display the nfo data, as it would for a properly tagged movie (I have scraped all of the metadata from TMDB, which has all of the UFC events).

Thank you guys so much for the help!

I'm having troubles with the recently added widget: it's empty
When I go to the recent items submenu under TV shows or movies, things show up correctly, however, the list in the widget is blank. It doesn't appear to be throwing any errors in the log file.

The only thing different about my install is the fact I'm hosting the database on a mysql server

Dharma RC2 is ready, and this one is a Release Candidate in the truest sense. There are a few reasons we decided to do one last pre-release:

Shoutcast support has been redone. Listening to your favorite online radio stations with the shoutcast plugin is now a much nicer experience.
The add-ons moved out of the testing repository and into their permanent home. This means that everyone will need to upgrade in order to see future add-on updates. If you continue to use RC1 or previous, please don’t report a lack of updates.
Automatic updates for add-ons are now enabled by default. Of course, you can still disable them via the add-on manager if you prefer.
It has been far too long already, so the final release of Dharma should be close behind this one. If you have any outstanding issues speak now or forever hold your peace!

In guisettings.xml, here is what should work for your custom UFC Main Menu item:
Code:
<setting type="string" name="skin.AeonMQ-2.mainmenu_1path">ActivateWindow(VideoFiles,D:\UFC\)</setting>
If you have more than 1 custom item, "mainmenu_1" may be different.

And yes, you can have a custom background. Once the custom Main Menu item is working, you can go into the skin settings and change the background just like you do for other Main Menu items.

This way I don't think you will get any scraped information
