It should works since I testing it on 2 Android TV Boxes, CoreELEC, Windows and Linux.
Would be nice to see log file when update's failed. Also if you can, please delete folder with skin from addons folder: Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/addons and Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/addon_data after it you can try to install it again.

Ok, I know what is wrong. Somehow it does not see latest update which is 0.5.2 (0.5.1 is not on a server anymore). Please try to switch to estuary skin, then go to settings and try to update heppen's repository and try to update skin again as well.
If it will fail, please try to uninstall heppen's repository and add it again.

And: I can't open any info(text) about the actual playing program you talked about. "I" does also display only the "normal" LiveTV-OSD.

Seeing that you have added a dark / white background overlay function, I was so delighted! But as it turned out, it is so bright that it spoils the entire skin, unfortunately (I think maybe, if not too much brightness, it will not spoil the main Netflix menu, but it's very bright)) I turned it on and all the data was simply lost against the background of such a bright background: D All the same, darkening is best suited!) But 20-30% I think during the day it would be enough for the eyes in terms of the clarity of the background

Can confirm it works here on my CE and Linux laptop as well so I'm not sure what could cause it :/

Yes I added it. But I added it to make an option to set your own background picture. In this case you will have a little bit more control over what will be displayed in the background.
