When you say Kodi18's workaround, do you mean the custom builds shared here? Or is there some other workaround?

Ah they merged the fix, nice. I thought the consensus was that it'd have a negative impact on all users, and wasn't worth it for just Sony users. Glad to hear they fixed it anyway!
