Big Grin
Hey all.

Just wanted to let anyone who is interested know that I found some cables on ebay from http://www.pnpgames.com and they work FANTASTIC!

No problems, plugged them in and BAM! 720p.

They don't have the optical out, but I am not using that so I don't care.Big Grin

Hope this helps people.

I am in the same boat and am having that ghosting issue with the cables that I got (they were mad catz box type style) and I was going mad trying to find out what the original M$ looked like or which 3rd party cable was actually worth buying.

I try some options and then post my success (hopefully)Big Grin

What are / is the best option available now? I just looked on ebay and found these.

Are there others / official ones you'd recommend for now?

The 2nd one is no good as it's for a 360 but any of the others will do. I haven't had any experience with them but they should all do the job. I'd go for the last link as it also has digital audio output but you'll have to buy component cables for it as it's only a break-out box.

Hi,
I hope someone can point me in the right direction.
I've changed my Xbox from PAL to NTSC using Enigmah and enabled all HD options in skin and XBMC but if I boot into MS dash it still shows PAL settings. If I run Enigmah from XBMC it says NTSC!

Can anyone help?

720p, funny thing is that if I run msdash from XBMC all HD modes show and are enabled.

Hi. This is a very interesting thread. I have an XBox 1.0 modded with Duo X2. I have an AV cable with S-Video and stereo sound. When in the settings part of the XBox setup, for video I only have the choices of Wide, Letterbox or Standard, and I don't see any choices for resolution. Is this because the cable has not enabled the links on the AV connector for high definition? I'm thinking of putting in my own dip-switch for the three links so I can set it manually.

Hi Crashnburn,

I bought the last one you mention http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...K:MEWAX:IT, a year ago from ebay-USA, same vendor you mention, brand new, and is working very well till now.

I connected Audio L-R, and Video Y-Pr-Pb direct to old TV set (Toshiba, not HD).

And connected Audio optical cable to old 5.1 surround system (Denon).

Connection cables to the sets are not included in package.

Image and sound are quite good.

This is more likely that you have a PAL Xbox. The 480P, 720p etc options are only available if the XBox is set to NTSC. This can be done a couple of ways, one being the use of Enigmah Xbox PAL-NTSC Video Selector.

Google is your friend is your interested in trying this out.Nerd

Also, Higher resolution, ie 720P etc, would require a Component AV Cable, ie: plugs with red, blue and green.

You can selfmade one, using the actual one. You can take a look here to the connections... it's a simple process.
If you are Italian (like me) i can help you to do this.

If I was the use the analogue to digital video converter found here:

http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp...BCATID=459

Would this still enable me to upgrade my xbox resolution even if i dont use the HD Av pack?

I would say no - as the xbox will still sense whats connected to it - and if that is standard def leads then standard def is what you will get... Eek

I have a question about that dongle/box thing that RogerAlbuk. I've been using one for years and we recently got an HD tv. There are static diagonal red lines (not lines, but discrete pixels running roughly in lines) running across my screen, I guess you could call it noise. Anyway, thats not my questions unless anyone has an idea, I haven't tried to problem solve yet.

I'm posting because I noticed though that it only seems like the Yellow video output is actually doing anything. I can unplug the other two with no effect. The picture looks fine aside from the noise but I was curious about what was going on there, shouldn't each plug be transmitting a particular color? it kind of seems like this thing--aside from the digital audio out--is a glorified composite cable.

Eh, ignore my last post. I messed around some with the cable and it looks like each input does do something.

However, the noise issue remains. I just tries switching cables and isolating cables and it didn't help. Anyone else have noise problems with this dongle thing? As someone said way back on the first page generally about cheap connectors its worse in 720p than it is in 1080i.
