Yes you can, just select a display mode without HDR in the custom display mode options.

Projector has horrible hdr. I rather use shield's tonemap.

No, I've tried ALL custom display modes, even 720p bt709. The shield still spits out hdr metadata no matter what.

Any way can i disable metadata from the kodi.

@clockwerk You would need a hardware EDID editor/emulator that is configurable. Something like this: https://www.gofanco.com/prophecy-edid-em...demul.html

Quite expensive though...

Sorry, I played a Dolby Vision video instead of HDR10 when I tried and was just looking for the HDR indicator to pop up (or not in this case).

You'll just have to encode without HDR.

Since Kodi is highly customizable, is there really no software/mods that cut off hdr?

Hello.

i've tested this release from Maven :
"net.kodinerds.maven.kodi20.arm64-v8a-202204110232-832748f8-Nexus"

Work perfectly for movies with audio Dolby True HD Dolby ATMOS.
No Dropouts at all ! Great Release !
However it's Alpha release, but i don't have any issues since i've installed on my "Nvidia Shield 2019".

By the way, i've issue with the release "net.kodinerds.maven.kodi.arm64-v8a-202204110039-8b5a6388-Matrix":
Audio dropouts are coming back.

But before i had audio issue with Dolby Atmos with official Kodi Matrix 19.4.

Hi everyone,

I've been using Kodinerds on Shield TV pro 2019 for a while now and enjoy Dolby viosn content.
After the horrible Android 11 update and lots of issues, and even after 9.0.2 update, i decided to reste my Shield.
I installed 3 different Kdoi builds (Kodinerds Maven 19, Kodinerds Maven 20, Kodinerds 19 DV Final) and each time i've got weird ratio issue.
Videos are like zoomed in. I've checked all settings, everything seemes fine.
On the classic Kodi downloaded on the Playstore, it works fine. I don't understand.
Could you please Help ?

Same problem here, aspect ratio is not correct on Kodinerds v8a on my nvidia TV shield pro.
The archive version v7a of Kodinerds works perfectly.
