Certainly ion II with openelec is hard to beat. I have windows on one of mine, but only booted to win once.

Since this is using a Intel Moorefield SoC and is stated as Quad Core 1.8GHz it's a good bet it's using the Atom Z3560, see http://ark.intel.com/products/81194/Inte...o-1_83-GHz

It just so happens Asus has another product made by them using the Z3560 and that is the tablet ASUS MeMo Pad 7 ME572C, so the benchmarks for this should give a good idea of the performance of the Nexus Player, see http://uk.hardware.info/productinfo/2598...estresults

I already have a mac mini connected to the tv, which boots automatically into xbmc when turned on

whats the benefits of having a box like fire tv or this google box? is it because it uses android store, so i can download apps like viaplay, nrk (streaming stuff).

and i guess i can install xbmc just by allowing apks or maybe having it rooted.

But ye, what ar the benefits? is there any reason for me to sell the mac mini
