Linux OpenELEC Testbuilds for x86 (Kodi 17)
Sorry if this has been asked before, but would these builds work on the beebox.
Sony KDL-46HX853 and Sony STR-DN1050
MONITOR AUDIO BRONZE BX5 5.0 speaker package
SVS SB2000 Subwoofer
Nvidia shield TV running SPMC
Pi3 running LibreELEC
harmony touch remote control
26GB unRAID server
I don't know what a Beebox is, but if it supports official OpenELEC Generic or Nvidia_Legacy releases then it should support the equivalent builds from this thread.

I'll download your build and try it, and report back.

Is this build appropriate for Skylake-based machines?

I have been fighting for the past few days trying to install a Skylake-comaptible OpenELEC distribution, but so far I haven't found the right combination of software.

Here's what I tried:

1) Initially, not really even thinking about it, I tried 5.95.5 and then 5.0.x when 5.95.5 didn't work
- Basically, the installer succeeds with 5.95.5, but I receive errors about not being able to start xorg.

2) I tried a few of the more recent builds here - see below, but these don't boot off of the memory stick (for me, for some reason) so I cannot even install:

http://fritsch.fruehberger.net/openelec/isengard/

3) I tried the latest build here:

http://milhouse.openelec.tv/builds/maste...813f9d.tar

Because this is a tar file and not an image, here's what I did:

a) Removed HDD and installed in older Core i3 machine
b) Installed 5.95.5
c) Enabled Samba and copied over the above file to the Upgrade folder
d) Rebooted (twice) and verified Jarvis/16.x was installed
e) Removed HDD
f) Placed HDD into new Skylake i5 machine

=> Doesn't boot.

Is there anything else I can try? Not very familiar with OpenELEC but fed up with Windows so thought I'd give it a go...

Thanks!
try again a fresh install (direclty from i5 skylake pc) with

edit: i don't have skylake so my post is a suggestion
Thank you. I will give it another go.
Hmm, I think I have possibly been misled by the lack of HDMI signal...

After following some hints in another thread (New Era: VAAPI...) I noticed that mbosner has the same hardware as me and he/she referenced the dual HDMI outputs on our motherboard.

If I use the original HDMI port, I get no signal shortly after booting from the USB stick.

So I subsequently switched to the secondary HDMI port, and now the display works.

I am now installing the image from the above link...
yeah, apparently I am an idiot for not trying the 2nd HDMI sooner. Works!
good!, use fritsch main thread for kodi settings( #1 and #2 post)
Thank you so much for your help Roby77!
Thanks Roby77.

@mrwilby - just out of interest for other Skylake users, did my build also work in the end?

I am going to try upgrading again (now on the 'correct' HDMI) shortly. I will let you know later today. Thanks for the hard work!
