You could provide some information like a xbmc debug log and the output of xbmc-xrandr

Thank you!
With this new video card for some reason I can't change the resolution settings in xbmc or xbmcbuntu. It's stuck in 640x480 in xbmc (won't toggle at all). In xbmcbuntu I tried setting it to auto and it's still 640x 480. I have a brand new Samsung 1080p LED TV. I never had this issue previously b/c I was using a computer monitor with DVI for the video card I installed.
xrandr output is:
screen id=0 min640 min height 480 max w 640 max w 480 x=0 y=0
mode id="0x108" 73hz current= "true" preferred= "false"
system info says xbmc 11.0 git: unknown (compiled mar 24 2012)
when I startup it says xbmc 11.0 eden but the crash log says 11.10 ?

I don't know how to upload the crashlog (I didn't want to copy and paste all of it in this message b/c it's SUPER long, if that's not frowned upon I will)
Also now that I am using HDMI with new TV it doesn't send audio over hdmi. I changed the settings to hdmi and bitstream and that didn't work. I saw a tutorial saying I need to install the drivers, and in another post it said get nvidia current would give me the drivers( I have updated my nvidia drivers to current I am uncertain if I need to download the ALSA drivers) I would like to bitstream audio to a receiver.

sound drivers (alsa) are part of the kernel, so you really should have them. If you want hdmi passthrough with a dedicated gfx card, thats part of the GFX driver.

I have the current nvidia drivers, posted the output of xrandr, and uploaded my debug log. I know this thread is long but where I stand now: 100% cpu use when using GFX card and can barely navigate xbmc but am able to navigate fine in xbmcbuntu, resolution is stuck to 640x480 in xbmc and xbmcbuntu , no audio over HDMI. Please give me some guidance on what to do next, thank you

upgrade to xbmcbuntu pre, as already posted above. There are several improvements for nvidia vdpau, audio engine etc.
And your current installation isn't working anyway.

I really wanted to avoid upgrading till it was final release, but you have a valid point. What's the best way to save my fanart, album covers etc ? I saw a post saying as individual files and other say as a single file ?
