hi i just installed XBMC. when i open it it comes up with a message saying 'application create failed: check log file and that it is writable'

could anyone help me??

Restart your system. I saw this message once and only after restarting the pc, the problem solved.

Hi i tried the opening the program after restarting my system but i still get the same message.

Then try by reinstalling. I saw that message only once and the problem is no there in my pc.

ok im gonna try installing. ive copy & pasted my log file if thats any help.

Make sure DirectX is installed on your system. It should be installed by default with XBMC, but if you go to the Windows start menu and select run, then type in dxdiag.exe it will run the DirectX diagnostics and you can check for missing files or a bad install there.

hi i did that command in run. and everything seems fine.

Did you update your graphics driver? Update it and try again.

no i didnt update my graphics driver. how do i update the graphics driver?

Visit amd or nvidia website depending on the gpu you use and using the gpu number you can download latest driver. Or use this tool if you use amd gpu. Similar tool will be available for nvidia also.
