Win [Release] Viaplay (plugin) video addon - Viaplay - Discontinued

I still have some issues with play and pause buttons on the MCE remote, these buttons are not handled in the same way as the other ones.
So It might take a bit longer to work this out. On the other hand, the control of playback is now resolution independent which means that you can have any resolution and still be able to use these features.
The reason for this is that I have to position the mouse cursor and then simulate a click or doubleclick in order to do stuff, this was easier to do with a fixed resolution.

I've also finished support for watched episodes. When you play an episode, the add-on will mark it as watched. You can control this by bringing up the context menu and select if the episode should be marked as watched or not. This information is saved in a database so it will be available next time you run the add-on.

I've gotten a request for Norwegian Viaplay support, if there are more requests for this I might consider adding it in the coming version.

A norwegian implementation would be nice!Smile

Thanks for a great add-on!

Just one request though. As it is now it seems that automatic shutdown when idle is activated when I watch anything on viaplay, that is xbmc doesn't seem to recognize that something is running an shutdown after the set time for auto shutdown. Can this be fixed somehow?

Thanks!

I think I might be able to solve your problem.
When playback is launched either by starting viaplaylauncher.exe or the default browser I could make the add-on wait for the viaplaylauncher program or web browser to end.
This would at least in theory make the add-on active and should stop XBMC to shutdown.

Would that solution make XBMC inoperable during viaplay-playback? If yes, please make the solution voluntary (settings). I would rather disable automatic standby then not be able to access XBMC while running live sport in the background.

Yes I agree, it should be a setting.
Also I'm only able to do this with the viaplaylauncher.exe not the web browser, at least not the way I've built it.

Hi. Just got interested in this plugin, but for now it's unusable for me(I'm in Norway and I'm running linux). But the fact that it has support on playstation and android makes me wonder if it's possible to make the plugin work on linux... It's the same problem with Netflix, and I fear that the release of HBO-nordic is gonna give us linux users the same headaches. Why is Silvelight so much used?

Ok, I realise that I may be in the wrong section of the forum, but I would appreciate any toughts on the subject ;-)

Well I'm going to add support for Norway in the next version, but that will not help you on Linux.
But perhaps this will: http://www.engadget.com/2012/11/17/netfl...x-sort-of/

I've also wondered about the use of Silverlight with streaming services and since Silverlight itself is no longer developed by Microsoft it's a bit strange that it gains foothold.
But perhaps it's due to it's DRM support and ability to use hardware acceleration (this is also supported by Flash)...

What should viaplay change to start playback inside XBMC?

Keep up the good work :-)

Viaplay has to switch from Silverlight and use Flash for that to happen.

Cool MDDSD! Looking forward to test tonight. Sorry to be greedy, but is it possible to control volume and maybe jump x% time of the movie with mce remote in the future by simulating mouse movie+click?

ViaPlay uses Silverlight, which in my opinion is even worse than Flash...

I agree.
My understanding is that DRM support for HTML5 is still not that of Flash or Silverlight (yet), which means that we will have to wait a bit longer for streaming services to switch.
