I'm having big poblems with Advanced Launcher togethe with ALL games!
I have tried to synk my Steam-games with XBMC by shortcuts, and also zsnes with Super Mario Bros 3 and some others. I have tried all scrapers but non of them finds any thumbnails o fanarts! I have even went to the scrappers webpages just to check and the games are thee with fanart, thumbnails and eveything! What can I do to make it work?
(I use XBMC Eden and latest Advanced Launcher)

  • Are you sure to have setup correctly the 3 scrappers? There is 3 differents scrapers : 1 for data/info, 1 for covers/thumbs and 1 for screenshots/fanarts? All must be activated to allow you to scrap correctly all the metadata (Collecting method set to Scraper). Be also sure to have checked the "overwrite existing files" options for images scrappers.
  • Are you sure to have sellected the right platform for each launcher (IBM PC Compatible for Steam Games, or Super Nintendo Entertainement System for Super Mario)?
  • Are you sure that you have write acces to the folder you have selected to save scraped thumb and fanart images?
  • Make sure that you do not use nfs:// or smb:// path for your items, thumbas and fanart directories.

I have went trough all the scrappers, info, thumb and fanarts. I have also picked IBM PCI Compartible on all the steamgames. When AL start working it says "No fanart found" and "No thumbnail found". I have all games and shortcuts on my C drive.

I have got some images working with help of the google scraper, but they aren't that good... The two latest games (that I haven't added anything from google with, only tried with the scrapers, but no luck) is PlanetSide 2 and Snapshot. I also saw now that under planetside 2 there is an adress to where the fanart and thumbnail should be but there are no file in that folder for ether of the games

This is the reason why it is not working :
Quote:...
<romext>lnk|Url</romext>
<platform>PC-Booter</platform>
<thumb>C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\logo.png</thumb>
...
Seems that your launchers.xml file have been manually edited to replace the IBM PC Compatible plaform value to PC-Booter. That's not really a good idea. Scrapers use the filename and this platform value to identfy and found the corresponding game into the different databases. If you indicate a platform that do not exist, scrapers will not be able to found the corresponding games.

Best move actually for you is to :
  • Restore the platform value of your Steam launcher to IBM PC Compatible. You can do this directly from Advanced Launcher.
  • Then go into Edit Launcher > Manage Items List and Export items data to .NFO files. It will locally save your game information into local NFO files.
  • Then go into Edit Launcher > Manage Items List and Clear items list. It will remove all the listed games for your Steam Launcher.
  • Then go into Add-on Setting > Data & Infos and set Collecting Method to NFO Files. This will avoid to rescrap all the information from Internet.
  • Then go into Add-on Setting > Thumbs, set Collecting Method to Scrapers, Import mode to Semi-automatic and Select a Source (GameFAQ for example), and check Overwrtie existing files.
  • Then go into Add-on Setting > Fanart, set Collecting Method to Scrapers, Import mode to Semi-automatic and Select a Source (GameFAQ for example), and check Overwrtie existing files.
  • Finally go into Edit Launcher > Add Items > Scan for New Items to scrap Thumbs and Fanart images.

- At startup screen is turned off and (customizable) to break again
- Minimize / maximize problem is that sometimes occurred in XBMC fixed

-> Installation:
===============
-invite you Joystartend.exe down and copy it into a separate directory!
Joystartend.exe-start .. there are 2 files generated here! Infodatei.txt and Programmpfade.txt!
Programmpfade.txt-open the file and write in it from top to bottom inside the directories!
-> The program will later copy the current contents of these directories except the txt files!

This is an AutoHotkey script that will do what you're looking to do, but seriously, look into Rom-Jacket. It's built to do this kind of stuff.

Code:
#NoEnv
#Singleinstance force
DetectHiddenWindows, On

SetTitleMatchMode, 3

Hey, I need help with this script you posted. I managed to get things working before, but my XBMC was corrupted and I had to redo everything. This is the only thing I can't get to work again. XBMC minimizes and the game launches, but I get an error from Xpadder saying the controller cannot be opened. Any ideas? Also, if possible, I'd like to put in a command to suspend/kill eventghost when the game is started and resume/start eventghost when I exit the game, since the program messes with my video game controls.

The path to my eventghost is C:\Program Files (x86)\EventGhost\eventghost.exe

Thanks!

No problem.
The reason you get the xpadder issue is because it is trying to load controller1.xpadderprofile & controller2.xpadderprofile which don't exist in your "C:\Xpadder" directory.

Follow these steps:

1: For the xpadder issue, create a profile with no mapped keys. Name it nolayout1.xpadderprofile & save it in "C:\xpadder".
(this will clear the xpadder keys when you quit the game. You may choose to remap this layout to something that will control xbmc if you're feeling fancy.)

2: Make or rename the blackops xpadderprofile to CODBO2.xpadderprofile and put it in your "C:\xpadder" directory.

3: Ajust the script with the following changes to fix the xpadder issue and enable eventghost suspension:

Code:
#NoEnv
#Singleinstance force
DetectHiddenWindows, On
SendMode Input
SetWorkingDir %A_ScriptDir%
SetTitleMatchMode, 3
Autotrim, off
MouseMove, 9999,-9999
WinHide, ahk_class Shell_TrayWnd
WinHide, Start ahk_class Button
WinMinimize, XBMC
Process, Exist, xbmc.exe
xbmc_pid=%errorLevel%
If (xbmc_pid = 0)
{
{
If ! errorLevel
{
}
}
}
else
{
Process_Suspend("xbmc.exe")
Process_Suspend("EventGhost.exe")
}
Run, "C:\Xpadder\xpadder.exe" /m CODBO2.xpadderprofile
Runwait, "C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty Black Ops II\t6sp.exe" "%1%"
Run, "C:\Xpadder\xpadder.exe" /m nolayout1.xpadderprofile
Process_Resume("xbmc.exe")
Process_Resume("EventGhost.exe")
WinShow, ahk_class Shell_TrayWnd
WinShow, Start ahk_class Button
WinRestore, XBMC
exitapp
esc::
exit
ProcExist(PID_or_Name=""){
Process, Exist, % (PID_or_Name="") ? DllCall("GetCurrentProcessID") : PID_or_Name
Return Errorlevel
}
Process_Resume(PID_or_Name){
PID := (InStr(PID_or_Name,".")) ? ProcExist(PID_or_Name) : PID_or_Name
h:=DllCall("OpenProcess", "uInt", 0x1F0FFF, "Int", 0, "Int", pid)
If !h
Return -1
DllCall("ntdll.dll\NtResumeProcess", "Int", h)
DllCall("CloseHandle", "Int", h)
}
Process_Suspend(PID_or_Name){
PID := (InStr(PID_or_Name,".")) ? ProcExist(PID_or_Name) : PID_or_Name
h:=DllCall("OpenProcess", "uInt", 0x1F0FFF, "Int", 0, "Int", pid)
If !h
Return -1
DllCall("ntdll.dll\NtSuspendProcess", "Int", h)
DllCall("CloseHandle", "Int", h)
}

...

I've used the code and compiled it into an exe, and when I launch it, XBMC does minimize and the game starts up but eventghost does not close and my xpadder keys don't work (it's open, but I'd imagine ghostevent is overriding it):

Thanks for the good work on this addon!

I seem to have a little problem with it and I don't know if it's normal or not.
The games and emulators launch fine but when I exit the game I don't go back to xbmc, i'm dropped on the desktop and I have to either click on the taskbar icon or do an alt-tab to return to xbmc. Is this normal?

That did the trick.

This is sort of off-topic now, but for some reason when I launch the game this way, the button I have mapped to ESC as well as the ESC key on the keyboard itself cease to work. Any ideas what can cause this?

First make sure that you have activated the Use a fullscreen window rather than true fullscreen option that is present into XBMC system settings. Next, into Advanced Launcher, go into the context menu ("C" key) > Edit launcher > Advanced Modifications > and set Toggle XBMC Fullscreen option to OFF. It may solve your problem.

Hello, Angelscry.

I am looking for the toggle option you are referring to, but can't seem to locate it. Under "Programs" I highlight Advanced Launcher, press "C", Add-on Settings, and go to the advanced options but there doesn't appear to be this option there. Am I looking in the wrong location? Thanks!
