OK, a little progress, but I'm not sure what the problem is. My system is Frodo RC2/XBMCbuntu,reading library from nfs mounted via the XBMC gui.
It looks like the scraping works OK, but there is some failure when it writes the .m3u I think. Here's the debug portion of the xbmc log:

This is channel with 1 TV series which is correctly tagged with add-on data. Any ideas?
