Jinux - have you tried smart play list

Smart playlist ? nope

I have set a folder that is called, kids movies. In that folder are folders with all the movies. In each movie folder there is a folder.jpg and a fanart.jpg.

Made kids movies as a favorite, and put it on the homescreen, between films and series.

Still on Aeon Nox, where the fanart for non library stuff wirks oke, pitty though, real nice ACE skin.

I will have a look at the smart playlist thingy. Thanks anyway.

Smart playlist are very easy.
Add all your files to video library (main and kids movies)

Place these files in /userdata/playlist/video
kids.xsp
movies.xsp

Check with GUI how they are made.
(Open Movies Submenu, select Videos, Playlists and edit copy/pasted files or create like described below)

Explanation:
For regular movies i have a playlist Movies with argument path doesnotcontain value kids (my video location has kids in it same like you have)
For kids movies i have a playlist Movies with argument path contains value kids
Add new main menu VPLAYLIST items and disable Movie item

Oke, tried the smart playlist thing. Added the kids movies to the library. Tried making the smart playlist and all but i think it is way too devious to make it work. I just want my favorites to show the fanart.jpg and folder.jpg. Just like in all the other skins.

By the way, if i go to files and select the folder kids then the fanart works, but only when there is a playlist called kids.xp when i remove the kids playlist and go back to files then no fanart anymore in the folder kids. Very strange. Pitty it is such a nice skin.

Please make fanart work when selecting a favorite in the home menu. This playlist thing is way too difficult. Making a folder as favorite and put it on the homescreen is very easy. Also when a new movie is added to the folder kids it is automaticly in the favorite too. with a playlist i have to add the new movie to the playlist again. Or the playlist thing is so freakin difficult that i do not have the time to figure such a simple thing out. back to nox again Also my movie library is f*cked up now. The kids movies are all black and oooooo....... what have i done? excuse my language.

I really like Ace, but there is one thing I dislike. (The only skins I now use are ACE, and AEON MQ4)
The only thing that needs changed in my opinion is the TV shows count. I would really appreciate it, if I had an option to show TV episodes watched/unwatched instead of TV shows watched/unwatched. Along with the running total of TV episodes. (Like AEON MQ4 shows!)
I have watched episodes from many TV series, but just one completely.

A feature I would like to see added in an upcoming version would be, If the Watched TV shows were to be clickable, and it would take you to the list of all TV series that have shows being watched. Not sure if I explained that correctly, if not, let me know, and I will try to better explain it.

Got to agree with this. I find info on the number of TV Shows watched in full to be pretty useless. I bet most peoples are reading '0'.

Nice changes, but im still missing the extrafanart path fix when playing music (no extrafanart appears from the artist in main menu)

Hi MQ, thanks for putting this skin together, it's great. I have a few questions though:

How can the 'Get fanart', etc, options be disabled when viewing a video's information? I have tried using the various kiosk settings without success, and I want to make the system as idiot proof as possible.

If 'Choose what to do' when a file is selected is enabled, one of the options in the menu (in addition to play, resume, etc) is System menus - can this be removed? Again, this is to minimise the chances of other users doing the wrong thing.

Can anyone help with this? I had the same issue in MQ4 (but not in Aeon Nox) - I'm not sure if it's intentional or not that these options in the information view can't be disabled, but I don't want other users messing about with the fanart or info.

Take a look at the mele f10 remote.. Very cheap and very useful! You can get it on ebay

El Bandit, the kiosk mode is broken in Ace 1.3.0. I made some adjustments in 1.3.2 but I still need also fix in info window.
