[RELEASE] Spotimc: Another Spotify music addon
Hi all

Trying to log on. Cannot get in. Says "A premium account is required".

Is this for real or am I doing something wrong?

Cheers, Andrew

Hi

I have been trying to install on windows 7 frodo 12.1. After I have installed the plugin and launch for the first time I get the following error - LibSpotifyError - Invalid libary version.

Checked FAQ and this thread but can't find any info.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Great Plugin! - It's the reason, why i finally got a premium account Smile
Do you have a donation page somewhere?

Anyway: I am using a Raspberry PI Model B, running raspbmc - spotimc runs fine, just some glitches as audio-dropouts, but i blame my wifi and rather slow RasPi, also it takes up to 25 seconds to show a result list, if i am searching for something. Any way to improve the speed?

Is spotimc only working with Premium or also with the Unlimited service?

after some more extended use of the new beta4 it seem to be working alot worse than beta 3, Beta 3 almost never crashed/freezed

Sometimes it stops the music after track 2 is finished and jumps back to the playlist from viz and get's stuck in an infinite loop (loading the playlist) (seen it been reported other problems when starting song #2) i have no lyrics on, just artist slide show in Neon, the artist info (key I) is off, exept the few seconds when the track is changed. Need to reboot. (using an ION setup, no rasbPI)
That's strange since I do use Spotimc on an ION board under Openelec, and never noticed that issue. I re-tested with the Neon skin and Artist slideshow enabled, with again, no issues.

Will need to take a look to a log to check what's going on there... Thanks!

Thanks for the log file, but sadly pastebin.com seems to be down this weekend. Will take a look when the link is up again. Thank you!

Are you using a custom Spotyxbmc2 build? Both Spotyxbmc2 and Spotimc are known to conflict each other, due to the fact that both use libspotify.

You're right, Spotimc is rather slow on the Pi at the moment.

Anyway, for general Raspberry PI speed improvements you could try 1) using a faster (class 6 and above) sd card, or b) installing Raspbmc into an usb drive:

It's premium only. The underlying libspotify lib allows connecting only through premium accounts.

At one point we actually had two at the same time in Neon !
But yes, confirmed working with the following XBMC 12.1 + Neon 2.5.8 + SpotiMC 1.0-beta4 + Artist Slideshow 1.5.0

I downloaded the zip file on Github and installed in Openelec. It said there's no module named Skinutils. Any ideas?

Just wondering if you looked through the logfile?

This happens because you downloaded the package from the wrong location. Packages generated from the Github download option are not valid, since they lack some required binary dependencies (libspotify libs, python eggs, etc.).

Check here for the correct download packages:

Sorry, I almost forgot that. Seems related to issue #76, but that was fixed in Spotimc beta4. Could you please double-check that you are running the latest Spotimc version (beta4 atm)?

I'm currently using OpenElec 3 with SpotiMC beta4, and I am experiencing digital clicks in the audio, especially at the transition of two songs, but sometimes in the middle of a song, too. Cache is on, normalize volume is on, and quality is set to High. Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks for checking up on it!
I uninstalled spotimc and redownloaded the beta4 to be sure. This time I actually got a glimps of the "news page" before it decided to crash. I copied the logfile in the link below.
